ABOUT
The Legal Committee focuses on international law, treaties, and the development of legal frameworks that aim to ensure global peace, security, and cooperation among states. It addresses complex legal challenges by examining how international law can adapt to new and evolving issues in the modern world, while also promoting accountability and the rule of law across borders.
The development of cyberspace and digital weapons has created new difficulties for international law, especially when it comes to cyber warfare and state responsibility. As cyberattacks become more frequent and sophisticated, there is still no clear consensus on how such actions should be interpreted under existing legal frameworks. In this committee, delegates will evaluate how current international law applies to the digital domain, focusing on questions of attribution, proportional response, and prevention of cyber conflicts. They will also work toward strengthening international cooperation, clarifying legal responsibilities of states, and promoting responsible behavior in cyberspace to ensure long term global stability.
